morning and hello :o)

morning , been busy again ospitals etc, etc.....

james and i are off today to see another steam train and hopefully get another ride onit :o) hes veryyyyyyy excited and keeps asking how long , when we going, can we go now .... you get the drift LOL. anyway leaving in an hour :o)
the chooks are all coming on real well, had an egg yesterday nearly same size as normal egg :o) and we're getting 2 - 3 everyday now, Mildred does create after shes laid an egg though very noisy LOL.

we've also been teaching james how to tell the time properly the last few nights, and think hes got it, he did know hour, half hour, 1/4 hours but had problems with the other ones and to and after. once hes confident with this way round, then we will be showing him ie: 7.40 etc. after that the 24hr clock, its only taken 5-10mins for the last 3 nights and done :o) he also feels happier knowing.

hes also getting on better with homework, and will actually sit and do it on his own now, learning spellings too, think its just concentration with him, keeping him focused.

we still havnt put in the forms to see about relocation nearer to sandwich, problem is we do like it here, the garden is all set out now for us, everything as we want it and its taken us 6 years to get it this way, few more bits to finish which we will do this summer. so bit of a dilema here.
we have talked and to james and explained that if he doesnt get into grammer, or sandwich tech then i will home educate him, and he can then also do more group activities, he understands that we do not want him to go to the two local secondary schools.

hello

been a while again, im still here, just been busy again with hospital visits, sorting the chooks and garden out etc etc... you know LOL
its another lovely day here today, cant beat the sunshine for making you feel better. our chooks are all now laying, mildred and madge nearly everyday, babs has now got the swing of things and is laying proper eggs with proper shells and only one, instead of hardly anyshell 1" egg folowed by very fragile egg shell egg. and she lays by the coop door on the left in the sawdust .......... mildred seems to lay in the far corner near the straw area, and madge lays in the straw where they are all supposed to lay LoL. and little betty shes laid one egg so far under the cherry tree LOL, i know its hers as its darker and speckled . hoping she will lay another soon been 3 days since she has.
im starting to feel brighter, and not mourning for maggee as much as i was, have managed to go out for more walks too, still feels really odd without her there though. we had a film developed from the old camera the other day and found loads of mags as she was growing up, such a sweety.
tillee is sitting on my leg again like a cat LOL i suppose thats little dogs for you.

the wedding plans are all coming along nicely, not much else to do now or get, and im currently making ribbon roses to go round my head piece with other ribbons. trouble is i can only get 2 done before my hands stop functioning on me and then i cant feel the needle or the ribbon. oh well plenty of time and ive managed to make 7 so far :o)

finally found a table suitable for my knitting machine, £5 and set it all up yesterday, need to oil it a bit more and check it over, maintenance/service. then should be ok, was a bit stiff when i tried it yesterday.............. after several failed attempts....... id missed a page in my excitment in getting it working............ sent an SOS out and a lovely friend phoned me and went through it with me :o) isnt it lovely having nice friends.. James thinks it amazing (the knitting machine) as he saw it set up before going to a party then on to his grandads for the weekend. think it was a WOW MUM lol . and then a close inspection to see how it all works........ thats the engineering brain coming out then. i did have to take the back arm off it last night though after it attacked paul lol.

dont know what else we have planned for today, its sunny but the wind is cold, too early to plant the potatoes yet, i like to wait till the end of march, it gets quite cold up here and we've been known to have heavy frosts when everywhere else is clear. last week we had 3 days of frosts and snow covering on another. they are all in the shed chitting anyway then come end march will get them into the ground and the plastic greenhouses errected and seeds sown. I do love spring time , planting then watching and waiting for the first shoots to appear, such excitement when they start growing.

long time since been here

just looked at my last posting date OOPS! , well lots been going on, have now got my wedding dress, it arrived friday morning :o) and fits, and looks lovely :o) it is a burgundy deep purple, very nice, so have taken snippets from the ribbon and can match up hopefully for ties and shoes, if i cant find ties to match then may have to get material nearest match and make them, will see as yet to go out looking.
have had a few eeyore days, hence the not posting as often. but am trying to get out and about with tillee tots in the woods as this does help me tremendously. ive been really missing maggeemay, it just didnt feel the same walking without her, still feels weird but tots has taken over on the fetching game LOL, even trying to pick up a branch for me to throw for her, with much barking and grumbling because she cant LOL.

im still trying to finish of quilts ive started and come up with ideas for the bed quilt to now become a quilted bedspread, ive to get some more material after measuring etc. and also make it thicker with a 4tog duvet rather than the wadding that goes in normally. have brought some buttons to sew to hold it all together rather than trying to quilt it with the machine, so this is an ongoing project im endevouring to complete, along with the lounge quilts, one is nearly done, yes there are mistakes on it , but that just makes it all the more unique and personnel, just need to sew the border on and one is done, then get on with another.

ive been baking today, biscuits and some of these are for paul to take with him tomorrow as hes back with the outreach chemo team (who are lovely), just before xmas we donated tea bags, sugar and mugs (which they are using and were very greatfull for) so tomorrow he is taking some ginger nuts, hobnobs and chocolate hobnobs with him. only problem here is im going to have to make some more hobnobs in the week as not many left, plus the added eating from stevie, jasmin and james LOL they all like them warm from the oven, who am i to deny them such luxury.
comment from stevie today wow your kitchen smells lovely........... jasmin turns round and says well of course it does its nita's kitchen LOL.
as you might have guessed stevie stayed with us last night, her mother has gone away again for a few days, mike (stepson) also went to one of his friends this weekend, hes back later tonight so stevie is going back home later after dinner.

have a nice rib of beef cooking today for dinner, the butcher persuaded me LOL.

bits and pieces

sorry i havnt been around much on here, had a few hectic weeks again with hospitals etc. bad news with paul, the chemo hes just had hasnt done anything, and the cancer has grown in the liver :o( so as you can imagine a big shock, we thought hed have to have another 6 treatments but didnt even contemplate that the treatment wouldnt work at all and the cancer would grow.
we saw the chemo nurses thursday and both broke down, she sorted everything out for us, and told us to go home enjoy christmas have a few drinks, relax and recoop. the new treatment will not start till january so we can get our heads back round it all and be positive again :o) we are both relieved that we can have a couple of weeks leeway before starting on the new stuff with whatever side effects paul will encounter this time, we are aware of the possible ones, and he may loose his hair this time, so after crimbo will be giving him a grade one all over so not to noticable if he does.
we have both had down times since tuesday, wednesday we were both walking around like fogs situated in our brains, thursday we broke down with sue, today paul got out with a friend and that helped him no end, i was feeling really low this morning, but after a hug, chat and cuppa with his mum felt a lot better and was then able to carry on today. except my ulcer then kicked in with avengence on me have been in pain on and off all afternoon, milk and magnesia with pain killers didnt really touch it so resulted in pepsobismol twice , which after lots of gurgling noises has finally eased it :o) i really should ring my homeopath as she will be able to get rid of it again, its the time factor..... i now feel totally washed out LOL

on a better note ive finished mikes scarf, and 2/3 way through nephews scarf, so only a couple of cushion covers more to make, wrap them up and i think i may be there for christmas at last. o and i need to make fudge, chocolate log, christmas cookies, sausage rolls. so a day in the kitchen too :o)

on another note :o) my maggee may has settled , she and ellie may are now the best of friends , doesnt stop me missing her like hell, but at least i know she is happy and in good hands :o) M sent me a few more pics of her with ellie all snuggled up together the other day :o)

hi everyone, thank you for reading my blog :o)
im trying to keep up with everything but not really succeeding LOL
have mountains of christmas gifts to make, you know the one, just needs time........
i have made all the christmas cards now , just need to sign, address and send.. did go to do them saturday got two signed, just couldnt get into it..... you know have to be really in the mood, will attempt sometime this week, well need to get james school pic photocopied first really, so once id realised id not done that, defeated the object really so must get them done.. at least they are in my bag now one step closer then :o) i have lots of cousins and older friends of the family as well as relatives spread around, so they like a pic to see how he is.

couldnt believe it paul and i were looking at all james school pics from reception to now (keep in same frame) and the change from a baby at 4 to a little man now at 8 and just in four years......... just wow........... when i go to the school to collect james, you see the little ones and they are just babies. most are still only 4 or just starting to have their 5th birthdays.

quick update on maggee may, i had an email from michael the other day, and she and ellie may are both starting to get on well, infact he does not intervein now if mags starts, as ellie will just stand over her until she behaves herself, lol. and because mags is so good and obedient on and off the lead, he has started to attach ellie to her so she goes back and learns the same as mags does. says ellie is fine till going home time, then stands 10 foot away lol, this way as mags comes back to you and sits to have her lead put back on ellie has no choice but to do the same.
he sent a couple of pics and she does look more settled, so only a matter of time and im sure will be fine :o) they both also now sleep together so thats good. and also one of his nephews came over the other day and played football with her, he didnt manage to get the ball much mind lol, but she loved playing football with james, so was good for her :o)
i still miss her terribly, but i know its for the best, my tillee tots is far happier now too and is back to her old playfull, full of character self, also very chatty barky lol, as soon as we leave the house , especially if walking james to school she barks and barks to let every one know shes on her way, then when waiting in the evening for him she gets fed up and sits there barking for him to hurry up, which everyone of course finds highly amusing, especially the children who love to pet her. it is easier with just tills what with all the hospital visits etc. and she doesnt need to go out everyday, or can ,manage a small walk inbetween longer ones on other days, whereas my mags had to go out everyday and for longer walks and have the training for her head all the time or shed get very bored and myschievious as collies do... and she wasnt a hypa collie either.

bits about my week.

thought id better say hello as havnt posted all week, been bit hectic and lots of ups and downs this week.
i went for a lovely walk today on my own with the girls, went right down into the bottom woods which was lovely, could smell the woods, earthy woody just gorgeous, the girls had a good time and i was out for nearly 2 hours, i think i needed it as much as they did, its like a freedom and escape from everything going on, peacefull and serene all in one, back to nature, heavenly.
ive also been cycling more this week as from wednesday we have had lovely weather down here, james loves cycling to school as do i, and i do two runs there and back each day, i also popped into the farmers market thursday, so had 3 runs out on my bike, and we went to the supershop after school thursday so even extra miles. James loves shopping by bike with me.

my dad popped in tonight on his way home and has taken james with him for the weekend, think this will do him good, and give him a break from everything going on at home with his dad, hes been very tense lately and we think very frightened of whats been going on, i mean i have trouble dealing with it all so how does an 8yr old cope..................... paul is also having trouble with it all, hates feeling so tired all the time, and now his arm has swollen and pain in his shoulder, we are just hoping that the pick line has not done anything it shouldnt have, and is just muscle fatigue from a very old injury in his shoulder. but am keeping an eye on things and checking all is ok, or we will be back in casualty again like last night but this time waiting for an xray of his chest. will see.

ive had two lovely surprises this week, two of my friends Linda and jennie on the creative living forum, have sent me maltesers, yes its a weakness of mine LOL. also linda sent james a special worry stone in its own little bag, it is gorgeous shaped as a heart, and sunday paul and i are going to put our love into to, so if james gets worried about anything when hes not with us, he can take it out hold it tight and know our love is with him, so hopefully easing or taking away the worry. such a lovely thought.

ive been knitting christmas presents as well this week, and still trying to make a bat for halloween, nearly done but keep getting interuptions. have also started on a camoflage bag for paul, hadnt enough fabric in one piece left so have stitched pieces together to make two large pieces ready to sew into a bag for him, will post pics once completed.

thought id pop in and say hi, not a great deal today, have sorted my sons bedroom out moved stuff around so we can fit a new train track in there, hes having another built for him by his grandpy, on a table this time rather than wheels and on the floor, so we've dismantled the old one and ive packaged it all up to post off to my mums tomorrow. so whilst hoovering after dismantleing decided to move his cube book case to the other side of his room and have a general clear out, sort out and clean. looks far better.

then we went for a walk and picked some damsons 5lb so will be making some jam tomorrow, didnt make any last year as the damsons here were few and far between, but we found a tree just up the road from us, should have gone last week as a lot of them had split, and we could have done with a ladder LOL as some really nice ones higher up. but im very happy with 5lb.

well the cl forum is down again, and i am so glad i now have a blog so i can keep up with some of my friends from there.
it almost feels like ive lost an arm not being able to chat with everyone and see how they all are.

have just had a lovely cycle to tescopolist and the local shop for a few bits we needed. and WOW the panniers make life sooooooo much easier with shopping.

james was playing outside before i went but as soon as he saw me get my bike out that was it, o can i come to please mummy, so out with his bike cycle helmets on and away we went lol, it is more fun with him with me. rather than cycling on my own, and he does seem to make me go faster aswell. :)

hi all
just a little post today, went to Dover castle again yesterday, had a wonderful time, the children all love it there, they can run around to their hearts content, explore the tunnels, play with all the canons and guns, such adventure and imagination they can use, lovely.

today we have finally got the outhouse sorted out, have moved the freezers round swept it all, and found remnants of an old mouse nest, so all cleaned. we can now get our bikes in and out easier which was the main reason for this little exercise. having brought a new one with my birthday money i really didn't want it getting damaged unnecessarily. we were going to put a bike rack up on the wall but it just wont fit, so have now put mine onto wood to help the tires as is a concrete base and doesn't do them any good, i have also now fitted my panniers and looks really good, so the next shopping expedition will be a lot easier and safer by bike.
