- i love simplicity, have a son of my own and two step children, i love children and animals around me, and seem to be a magnet to them at times :lol: i had a wonderfull husband,who loved all the things i did, sadly passed away 14th February 2010. i like to try new things and will give most things a go if i can. i love to walk in the woods and countryside and feel more alive when i am there amongst nature and wild life. we seem to have an ever growing menagerie LOL

This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
